Frequently asked questions

Everything you might want to know before collecting one of my sculptures.

If your question isn't answered here, you're always welcome to contact me at hello@tommybeckerlarsen.se

1. Are all your sculptures original?

Yes. Every scultpure is one of a kind. I never create identincal copies, and every piece follows the unique character of the wood it is carved from. Every sculpture is signed before shipping out to its new home.

2. What materials do you use?

I primarly work with reclaimed hardwoods. Depending on the sculpture, I also incorporate materials such as steel to complement the natural form.

3. Will my sculpture develop cracks over time?

Wood is a living, natural material that responds to changes in humidity and temperature. Small cracks or subtle movement may occur over time, and I see this as a natural part of the sculpture's life rather than a flaw.

Each sculpture is carefully dried and crafted to minimise movement, and significant structural craks should not occur under normal conditions. However, because every piece of wood is unique, no artist can guarantee that wood will remain completely unchanged forever.

Natural changes in colour are also part of the ageing process. Some species gradually deepen in tone over time while others become lighter as they are exposed to light.

4. Do you accept commissions?

Yes. I occasionally accept commissioned work when the project alligns with my artistic practice. Rather than creating an replica of an existing work, I create a new original inspired by the ideas, space or atmosphere we discuss together.

5. Do you ship internationally?

Yes. I ship worldwide and each sculpture is carefully packed to ensure it arrives safely. Shipping costs vary depending on destination and size of the artwork. Please get in touch for a shipping quote.

6. How do I purchase a sculpture?

You can purchase available works directly through this website through my webgallery, by contacting me or through one of the galleries that represent my work. If you have questions about a specific sculpture, I'd be happy to answer any questions.

7. How should i care for my scultpure?

Wood sculptures require very little maintenance. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, excessive heat or high humidity. A soft dry cloth is all that's needed for occasional dusting.

8. Can I view you work in person?

Selected works are available through the galleries listed on the Represented by page. If you're interested in visiting my studio in Ullared, Sweden, feel free to get in touch to discuss the possibilities.

Every sculpture begins with a conversation.

Sometimes with the wood. Sometimes with the collector.
